

1ST HOUSE
The type of lenses through which they engage with the world.
Together with the Ascendent, it describes our instinctive outlook on life and the way we relate with the world and how we tend to approach new beginnings - new situations, projects, relationships.
When we analyse the Ascendent complex (all factors influencing the first house cusp), we can get a pretty accurate description of what we could call one's personality.

4TH HOUSE
The early home environment, the atmosphere that was absorbed there; Our roots and origins; our family.
How safe and nurtured we were and how we feel about belonging to a family, which, in turn, will influence how safe we feel emotionally throughout life.
How we create our own family and how at home we feel with ourselves - a sort of inner temple.
Also describes our experience of the father figure in early childhood.

7TH HOUSE
One-on-one relationships that involve some level of commitment, such as long-term partnerships, marriage and business associations.
Describes what we meet through others and how we find ourselves through those relationships – what we tend to project onto others that which is actually ours/us. Both the qualities that we tend to draw towards us and that, at the same time, requires certain effort for us to identify with.

10TH HOUSE
Our career and our social position. Our worldly ambitions and public image.
The kind of achievements we want to be recognised for. What we might project into the world. Our idea of success. How we plan ourselves and put effort into making our dreams happen. The desire to climb the ladder in some way.
Inner sense of authority, which is gained through experience and perseverance.
Also associated with our experience of the mother figure in early childhood.

2ND HOUSE
Our values, including how we value ourselves, our body and our material possessions.
How we acquire and manage our resources, our money.
How we feel about our body, how secure it feels. Often connected to how our bodies were valued in our early childhood, and this will resonate also on the way we deal with our possessions, personal resources and what we feel we are worth in general.

5TH HOUSE
Self-expression, pleasure and enjoyment. Describes our hobbies and how playful we are.
Our experience of being a child, and also our attitude towards our own children.
The way we engage with romantic affairs, short term relationships.
How we deal with our creativity and our spontaneity. The authenticity with which we put ourselves out there and the expression of our creations, be it artistic, crafty or even our offspring.

8TH HOUSE
Where we meet intense emotional experiences and encounters, which are beyond our conscious control and that tend to change us deeply.
The manner in which we deal with our sexuality, intimacy and shared resources with a partner.
Profound inner transformations which require part of us to die in order to develop other parts of ourselves and promote personal growth.

11TH HOUSE
How we function as part of a group; our friendships; our political and social beliefs. The hopes and ideals we have for the community we belong to. The sort of friends we tend to attract.
The activities we undertake within these groups, how we make a difference and as a result, how we grow and actualize our true selves.
Our interactions and efforts in keeping with our priorities in life and how they can enhance our ideals and life in general.

3RD HOUSE
How we absorb and process information. The development of learning and communicating skills
Describes our early environment and our interaction with immediate surroundings – also, our relationship with siblings, neighbours, and our experience of early schooling.
It also gives us information about what we tend to experience during short and/or local travels.

6TH HOUSE
Developing skills which can be put into useful service; our work - occupations that are done out of necessity, regardless whether we enjoy it or not. Here we can also include the kind of work situations and relationships with colleagues.
How we serve and take care of our own bodies; our health.
How we approach and cope with our daily life and routine; the personal little rituals we create for ourselves and the everyday demands from home and work.

9TH HOUSE
How we broaden our horizons, be it physically through travelling, intellectually via studies and philosophy, or spiritually. What we believe in and how we draw meaning from our lives. Associated with faith, higher education and contact with different cultures and countries.
The kind of understanding we can build through our own perceptions. What we do with the information we gather (3rd house); teaching, sharing our knowledge.

12TH HOUSE
Our unconscious - fantasies, fears and
parts of our psyche that tend to require more effort for us to access.
Also refers to the psychic inheritance from our ancestrals, what was somehow left unexplored or misused.
The desire to retreat and escape from the harsh reality. Where we can replenish and heal, but also where we might turn towards escapist patterns/addictions.
Our connection to other realms of reality beyond the mundane/concrete.
6TH HOUSE
Developing skills which can be put into useful service; our work - occupations that are done out of necessity, regardless whether we enjoy it or not. Here we can also include the kind of work situations and relationships with colleagues.
